The Who are an English rock band that formed in 1964, the group originally consisted of vocalist Roger Daltrey, guitarist Pete Townshend, drummer Keith Moon, and bassist John Entwistle. They became known for their energetic live performances which usually included instrument destruction.

The Who have charted 27 top forty singles in the UK and US, they have sold over 100 million records, earning 17 top ten albums. Moon passed away in 1978, and Entwistle in 2002, surviving members Townshend and Daltrey released the studio album Endless Wire in 2006 as The Who, it reached the top ten in the US and UK.

In 1990, The Who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Their display describes them as "Prime contenders, in the minds of many, for the title of World's Greatest Rock Band."
