The bulldog is a breed of canine with characteristically thick shoulders and head. A bulldog's brow generally has thick folds of skin on it, they have round, black, wide-set eyes, the muzzle is short and has characteristic folds called "rope" above the nose, with hanging skin under the neck, pointed teeth, and drooping lips. The coat is short, sleek and flat, with colors of white, red, fawn, brindle (mixed colors, often in irregular stripes or waves), and piebalds of these.

 

The size of a typical mature male or female is usualy about 45-60 pounds.
