Hon. Robert "Bob" Nesta Marley OM lived from February 6, 1945 until May 11, 1981. He was a famous Rastafarian Reggae singer-songwriter and musician. He was the lead singer, guitarist. and songwriter for the rocksteady, ska, and reggae bands The Wailers, and Bob Marley & the Wailers. Marley remains the most widely known and revered performer of reggae music, and is credited for helping spread both the Rastafarian movement and Jamaican music, to a worldwide audience.

 

Marley's best known hits include "No Woman, No Cry", "Could You Be Loved", "Stir It Up", "I Shot the Sheriff", "Exodus", "Jamming", "Redemption Song", "One Love" and, together with The Wailers, "Three Little Birds", as well as "Iron Lion Zion" and "Buffalo Soldier". The compilation album, Legend, released three years after his death, in 1984, is reggae's best-selling album, selling 20 million copies worldwide.
